Sing a Little Louder

Long lay the world in sin and error pining

‘Til He appears and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices

For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

THIS...this is the song for the season! I woke up humming this song and when I really thought about the words behind the melody, my heart skipped a beat, then slowly melted into a sweet and peaceful rest.

In a world filled with chaos, hate, abounding confusion and evil...we certainly are in need of a Holy Night.

Our souls are tired and weary of the constant fight and tumultuous journey, but there IS hope - for “yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.” Aren’t we thankful and blessed that this old world is not all we have to look forward too?!

🎶Yonder breaks a new and glorious morn🎶

I’m reminded of a verse in the Word of God, in 1 Corinthians, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

What a precious gift we have afforded us, that this old, mixed up world we’re living in isn’t our only hope. Aren’t we blessed to have the privilege to experience Jesus in this world? Where would we be if it wasn’t for Him?

The gift He gave us, on that first Christmas morning, was for our present hope and our assurance for the future.

Only Jesus will satisfy and completely fill our hearts with love, joy and peace. Only His love gives us worth. Nothing else will do! No present under a tree, no gift given by humanity, will ever fill the longing in our weary hearts.

Let us fall on our knees this Christmas season and remember what matters most. It’s not parties or presents, but it’s us loving one another with His love, loving Him more than anything else, and continuously living like and looking for that glorious morn to break at any time.

Folks, Jesus is coming again, and it can’t be very long. It will be at one of the darkest times we’ve yet to experience, just like in the Bible. This old world is wrapping up, it is groaning for Him. Let’s recommit, repent, re-prioritize and draw closer to Him in the final days of this year. Let’s sing O Holy Night with a passion like we’ve never quite sang before. We need Him, and He needs us to shine a little brighter than all the twinkling lights beckoning for our attention.

This...our hope, our calling, our worth, and purpose. Let’s spread the word and good news to the many hurting and weary hearts we encounter each day.

I hear the Angel voices...let’s sing a little louder.
