Covid-19 & My 3 C’s

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Aren’t we all tired of hearing about this Covid-19 pandemic? Done with hearing how many have contracted it and how many deaths have resulted from it? (Mind you, we don’t hear very often the number of Covid survivors, do we?) I’d say, for the most part, everyone is ready to get on with life. We all have our opinions on what is the BEST course of action and how it SHOULD all take place.

When we should go back to life as normal, if we should wear a mask or not, do we go back to work or church now, and if we’ll ever hug someone or give a handshake ever again. Whatever! I know there will probably forever be some changes after this, but I’m...

Done. With. It. All.

While I’m not making light of the seriousness of it, the fear we’ve experienced, and my heart is saddened because of the many lives which have been snuffed out quite unexpectedly; I want to share a few things I’ve recognized during this season.

My 3 C’s

Consistency

Although the world and our lifestyles can change, and have, drastically within just a few weeks, GOD never changes. He is in control and His children are in His hand. He knows what’s going on in our world and has a plan.

When everything around us is unstable and reeling with uncertainty, I’m positive that we just have to keep on keeping on and be as stable as possible. We’ve got to keep doing what we know is right. Keep on keeping God first! Prayer, Bible study, living for and desiring God more than anything else. No time to get lax and just vegetate. Remember, we’re warriors.

Connectivity

While sheltered in place, there’s a lot more time to spend doing things we don’t normally do - but that we should be doing more of. Yeah, there’s still no more than twenty-four hours in the day; it’s just how we’ve chosen to use them. Priorities. FaceTime or Zoom time together with those we aren’t able to touch, playing board and card games, and just hanging out with family in the yard. It’s easier to connect when we’re all not so busy. See what normalcy steals from us?

With sickness abounding and the realization that we too can, at any time, come into contact with this dreaded virus, we aren’t as likely to take ours nor the people in our lives for granted. We are appreciating and loving our people more fervently.

Creativity

One of my favorite insights is that people are creative, if we’ll only slow down to see and use the gifts we have been given by God. It’s been a time to share those gifts with others!Sewing masks, making hearts and homemade cards, drive-way chalk art, sending secret blessings and praying it forward. There are so many things I’ve seen - and I love it! It’s inspiring, and we all need a little more inspiration in our lives. ♥️

So, that’s three things Covid has refreshed my memory about. Maybe you can take a minute now to think about what you may be doing differently these days, things which are good and meaningful. Things you might consider making an effort to continue once life starts back up again. Let’s not lose sight of the most important things we’ve grabbed ahold of - let’s not waste this experience.

Just a word from my heart...be blessed.
